About This Restoration

Sam's 1974 Thing was a "nut and bolt" restoration, literally. Not a single nut was left alone. The restoration was supposed to be for his father-in-law, but then ended back in his (Sam's) possession as it turned out to be a wedding present for Sam and his wife, Lisa. Unfortunately the car was sold to finance their wedding, but it was an outstanding car none the less winning numerous trophies and a few "Best ofs". This car featured TMI Seat Upholstery, and Carpet but most of the customization pictured was personally done by Sam himself.

About This Restoration

This 1964 Convertible was built for cruising. Gary started this restoration with the intent of having a show car for our booth at car shows but the summer sun and cool Oceanside breeze were irresistible. Locals would spot this head turning 64 Convertible cruising Hwy 101 after work and on the weekends. Full custom interior featured Bright White w/ Sand Tweed Full Insert Seats, Premium Oatmeal Carpet, and custom Two Tone- Bright White Sand Tweed Door Panels.

Convertible TMI Tan Stayfast Convertible Top, White Crush Grain Headliner, and a Tan Stayfast Convertible Boot ensure the top looked good up or down.

Convertible was powered by a 1600cc w/ Weber Progressive. Nothing fancy there- just a clean smooth running engine designed for hitting the beach strand.

Our southern California Location also means we are never more than an hour drive away from the desert. This Class 11 Baja was built by PDK Racing back in the mid 90s. California Pacific / JBugs has been a proud sponsor of the car since its original race in the Baja 500. Currently the car is owned by Haugley Racing and still runs proud with help and support from California Pacific / JBugs as well as other sponsors. Our employees Jaime and Sam have both worked on, with and in the car in years passed.

About This Restoration

This beauty is yet another example of a high school students restoration on a budget. Garrett showed us anything was possible with a little elbow grease and determination. Only 17 years old at the time, he hand sanded, primed, painted, replaced the complete interior, and all exterior rubber components. He has since gone away to college, and left this bug behind. However this 69 coupe still cruises by the shop every now and then while on Garrett is on summer vacation.
