Here's a bit of automotive history for you. What was the first car to come from the factory with fuel injection as standard equipment? In 1968 the VW Squareback, Fastback and Notchback were the first cars with fuel injection as stock equipment. Who knew VW was such an innovator? The Type 3 was the only aircooled VW model to come with fuel injection until 1975.

Starting in 1975, VW Beetles, Super Beetles, Super Beetle Convertibles and Buses came with Fuel Injection as standard equipment. The stock VW fuel injection is a very archaic, although functional set up. Unfortunately parts for the fuel injection are becoming hard to obtain and finding mechanics that can work on the original VW fuel injection are even harder to find.

When you have come to that point where you simply can not get your VW fuel injection working, converting to carburetion may be your best bet. As always, whenever changing engine components, check your local smog laws as such a change may not be legal. We offer fuel injection to carburetion kits for 1968-1973 Type 3s, 1975-1977 Standard Beetles, 1975-1976 Super Beetles, 1975-1979 Super Beetle Convertibles and 1975-1979 Buses.
