The Bosch 02069 Ignition Condenser works in conjunction with the points and installs on the side the distributor. The condenser hooks up to the negative ( - or 1) side of the coil as well as the points (inside the distributor). The 02069 Condenser is a replacement for the 02007 condenser and was originally used when the VW had air conditioning so it has a roughly 6" longer wire to the coil. The Bosch condenser fits 1965 through 1970 Beetles and Karmann Ghias (with manual transmissions), 1964 through 1970 Type 2 Bus models, and 1964 through 1967 Type 3s.
Please note that the fitments listed are for what VW originally equipped the model listed with. It is very possible that after 40 years, the distributor may have been changed so we recommend verifying your distributor before ordering any distributor parts.
Beginner Tips:
The VW Ignition condensor is attached to the side of the VW distributor. It typically has a green wire and connects the points to the NEGATIVE side of the coil.
