VW Spring Plate Bushings install into the rear torsion housing on either side of the spring plate. The rubber knobby bushings prevent metal to metal contact and hold the spring plate in place in the torsion housing. One bushing sits inside the torsion housing at either the left or right side of the car. The other bushings sit inside the spring plate cap which bolts on over the spring plate to the torsion housing. The spring plate bushings are sold in a set of 4 and fit 1960 through 1968 Standard Beetles, 1960 through 1968 Karmann Ghias and 1962 through 1968 Type 3s with Swing Axle Transmissions. The bushings will not fit 1968 models with IRS rear suspension. Original Part #s 311511245, 311511246
