The upper trunk liner covers the fuel tank and back portion of the trunk. The fiber board is a duplicate of the
original European VW Upper Trunk Liner that has a fresh air box without a fan. The trunk liner fits 1971 through
1972 Super Beetle Sedan, Sunroof and Convertible models with the European fresh air box. It can be used without
a fresh air box but will have a rectangular notch at the top side. The tarboard can be trimmed fairly easily to
fit with the US fresh air box (we have a printable template below).
Cardboard trunk liners are rolled up for shipping. Upon receipt, unroll the trunk liner and lay it out curled side down. Place heavy items on top of the liner until it lays flat again. Warmth from a sunlit driveway or patio will help speed up the process.
Before installation, pre-fold all the tabs and edges to match the pictures above, this will make installation much easier!
