This EMPI 38E GAS Carb kit comes complete with an air cleaner and manifold for the Type 3. Please note that this product will
require modifications to engine compartment hatch for clearance. We strongly urge you to call for details. This synchronous 2-barrel
carb kit is perfect for street and off-road engines and will improve your performance over a stock carb. These kits are designed for
the Fastback, Squareback and Notchback. All kits are test run and adjusted for smooth performance.
Fuel Pressure MUST be set at 1.5 to 2 psi max! The 38EGAS carburetor is very susceptible to flooding out, with hesitation and stumbling off idle if the fuel pressure is too high. Before doing ANY tuning of the carburetor, make sure the fuel pressure is set and checked with a pressure gauge to less than 2 PSI.
