Note - due to the "Bubble Top" design of the engine case, your fan shroud may have to be clearanced across the bottom edge to align with the top of the engine case.
Aluminum engine cases are cast in a different mold than magnesium for additional strength and so the case can accept larger internal components. Aluminum cases are thicker in some areas, and due to the size differences versus the magnesium cases, will require that some engine tin pieces, fan shrouds and often times even accessories, like deep oil sumps, will have to be modified, trimmed, or clearanced so that they can be installed.
