The Flexible Clutch Cable tube, or Bowden tube, will fit 1972 through 1974 Type 1 Beetles, Super Beetles, Karmann Ghias, and Things. It also
fits 1968 through 1979 Type 2 Bus models. For 1974, the Bowden tube, or Clutch Cable Tube, fits Beetle, Super Beetle, Karmann Ghias and Things
through April of 1974.
VW used this Bowden Tube through the following 1974 VINs:
Beetle - 1142267259
Super Beetle - 1342267259
Super Beetle Convertible - 1542267259
Karmann Ghia - 1442267259
Thing - 1842219788
If your 1974 VW has a VIN prior (smaller) than the number above, this is the correct bowden tube. If it is after (larger), use the 111721361E bowden tube.
The bowden tube is approximately 13 7/8" or 350mm long.
