This stock replacement gas tank is a high-quality reproduction that fits 1968 through mid-1973 VW Bus models. It is designed to work with the original fuel sending unit, vent lines, and a late model Beetle fuel tank tap. The tank matches the original German design in fit and appearance and is built to last for decades when properly maintained.

It fits both standard models and those with exhaust system heating. On non-heater-equipped models, the additional vent lines must be capped. The overall fitment remains the same across these variants. The tank measures approximately 36 inches wide, 14 inches front to back, and 10 inches tall.

Note: Fuel tanks should be thoroughly cleaned before installation. Some may be coated in cosmoline, which should be removed using MEK (methyl-ethyl-ketone), acetone, or a similar solvent. Even unlined tanks may contain manufacturing debris that can clog fuel lines or damage your fuel system.
