When VW first offered the CV jointed IRS suspension it was considered an engineering masterpiece. However when the earliest off roaders started modifying them they soon found the limits of the VW components. With the demands that off road buggies put on their suspension the need for a larger and stronger CV joint has led off roaders to look towards Porsche components. Fortunately, with very little modification, the Porsche 930 CV Joint can be used on your VW Baja Bug.
The 930 CV joint has a 108mm outer diameter body and the center race has a 31mm, 28 splined center. The CV joint is limited in angle to about 24 degrees of drive angle and are used on dune buggys and baja bugs highly modified rear suspension. Most off road race Baja Bugs & Buggies are running the 930 CV Joint. We offer GKN Motorsports and aftermarket CV joints, boots and CV grease to keep them spinning through most any terrain.
Complete axle assemblies with CVs, boots and the axle with grease are available for the most commonly used suspension combinations. Conversion 930 to Type 1 stub axles and transmission output flanges allow you to run the larger 930 CV joint on your dune buggy. CV joint bolts, axle spacers bearings and seals are available to get your drivetrain in working order. Upgrading, repairing or just getting a spare, we have all the drivetrain and axle parts you will need.
Complete bolt on axle assemblies are great for a spare or if your building your buggy from scratch.

Axles are available in various lengths so it doesn't matter if you're running stock VW trailing arms, 3x3 trailing arms or bigger, we have the axle you need to connect your transmission and stub axles as well as the clips to hold them in place.
Conversion stub axles replace the stock units and mount in the trailing arm to connect to the CV joint and turn your drums or rotors.
High performance grease that meets factory fill requirements set by most all CV Joint Manufacturers. The EP-2 additive gives added protection against seizing under extreme pressure.
