This is the big brother of the GT-3 cam and is a good "do it all" cam for medium to large displacement engines with a little more top end performance. Ideally headwork or larger displacement engines are needed to take advantage of this cam. Performance will increase as the ports and valve sizes increase. Whether using it with stock or 1.25 ratio rockers it provides good useable power in a wide range of engines with performance similar to the W-125 cam.
EMPI's GT-4 cam pulls well up to about 6000 RPM, or up to 6300 if you swap to 1.25 rockers, just be careful with valve train clearance! Dual springs and HD rocker shafts are necessities as are dual, two barrel carburetors. Dual single barrel carbs are hardly enough to run this cam and will have a hard time idling. This is more of a mid to top end cam but low end power will increase with more headwork and carburetion.

Installation Notes:
All Type 1 performance cams are 3 Bolt, "early style" or "flat cams" and fit Type 1,2 & 3, 1200cc(40hp) to 1600cc based engines. The cam requires a separately sold, bolt on cam gear and must be used with a "flat cam" style oil pump.
