Engle W-110 - VW Performance Camshaft - For 1.1 or 1.25 Rockers

The W-110 cam pulls well up from 1500 to about 5800 RPM or up to 6000 if you swap to 1.25 rockers, dual springs and HD rocker shafts. A stock carburetor, single barrel carburetor is not recommended for use with the 110 camshaft. A single 2 barrel carb, or a pair of dual, single or dual barrel carbs can all be used with the W-110. The 110 cam will work well enough with stock heads but will perform much better with bigger intake and exhaust ports along with larger valves to suit.

What else needs to be said about the Engle W-110 camshaft? It has been in use for decades and has been one of the most popular, and most likely best selling performance VW cams of all time. It is an all-around street cam for VW Type 1, 2, and 3 engines with a good balance of low to mid-range power.

All Type 1 performance cams are 3 Bolt, "early style" or "flat cams" and fit Type 1,2 & 3, 1200cc(40hp) to 1600cc based engines. The cam requires a separately sold, bolt on cam gear and must be used with a "flat cam" style oil pump.

Engle W Series Camshafts are designed for use with 1.1 rockers but can be used with 1.25 rockers.
Setting valve train geometry is crucial when using high ratio rockers. W series cams are great for small to medium displacement street, and mild performance engines with good mid-range performance.

JBugs (along with many other engine builders, racers and auto enthusiasts) recommends using an engine oil with ZDDP or ZDTP or a ZDDP/ZDTP additive in your oil for all flat tappet camshaft engines!
