This is my 1970 VW Beetle. My grandmother purchased this car new in 1970 because she was tired of her very large Chrysler and wanted a smaller car. I was born in 1968 so was only a couple years old at the time. She picked me up from kindergarten in this car and eventually taught me to drive in it.

She passed away in the mid-1980s and the car sat for the next 40 years in a field near her home. I brought the car back to life over the past couple years with a frame-off restoration which was completed last summer. Much of what you see came from JBugs. After sitting all those years, the car is now a daily driver again.
