I tried desperately to buy a Notchback as my first car in the mid 80s, after seeing one featured in Hot VWs magazine. Long before the internet, finding a lead on one in California was few and far between. I never found one back then that checked all the boxes for me, so I settled on a ‘63 Ragtop Bug for my first car.
Fast forward more than 3 decades later, and the Notchback itch had never gone away. In 2017 I finally found and brought this '64 S-model home. I imported it from the UK, but it was originally sold in Sweden. Accordingly, it has an Eberspacher heater and Swedish 2-point shoulder seat belts. It is very original except for the wheels and lowered stance. The exterior was resprayed once in the original color, but the rest of the paint, interior and mechanicals are in very good original condition.
