This is Gretchen, a 1967 Standard Beetle. She is #9 in a long list of VWs I have owned over the years. She was gifted to me from a dear friend, a VW enthusiest, back in 2018 before he lost his cancer battle.

Over the next few years I have finished her and returned her to nearly stock (1600 DP). I try to stretch her legs 1-2 times a week on local SoCal freeways. I have added additional gauges to monitor what she is feeling while driving. I am navigating my own cancer journey now and I feel better when I get her out on the road, whether that be the beach or somewhere in the San Fernando Valley.

Cars today lack a soul and all my VWs have had their own unique personality.
