Our 1956 or 1957 Beetle Sedan Deluxe Basketweave VW Interior Kit combines the best interior components to restore your air-cooled Volkswagen. The kit includes the following: Basketweave vinyl seat upholstery, matching Smooth vinyl door panels (with or without pockets), a full covereage vinyl headliner (available in easy/conversion or OEM styles, for hardtop or ragtop roofs), front and rear carpet kits, our Interior Restoration Video and Hogring Kit. Just make your selections in the drop down menus to customize your interior kit.
Our Interior Kits include components for the stock US import model year listed. If your car has different year seats than what is shown, please give us a call so we can determine which seats, or other parts may have been changed. If you want a color or material other than what is available above (but is listed in our color samples), please give us a call!
For decades, the interior restoration kits first introduced by California Pacific JBugs have been the best value for restoring the interior of your car. We include matching seat upholstery and door panels, a headliner, front and rear carpet kits, a hogring kit and our Interior Restoration DVD. We make it easy for you to restore your daily driver or show car with interiors that are guaranteed to fit right. Even novices have installed beautiful looking interiors with our kits.
Due to tightening restrictions from the EPA and shipping companies, we no longer offer headliner glue.
For installing vinyl headliners, we recommend a contact adhesive that is specifically designed for vinyl to metal contact. The best glue we've found is Weldwood® Landau Top & Trim Contact Cement from DAP®. There is no better glue for vinyl to metal contact, especially in hot climates where the interior of a car can be well over the exterior tempurature. For cloth headliners (like velour, tweed and mohair) a general automotive fabric spray adhesive will work well.

Basketweave Vinyl
Basketweave vinyl material was originally used by VW typically in 1966 through 1976 models. It is a vinyl material that is made with an impressioned "Basketweave" pattern. We offer Black, Brown, Tan, Beige, Off White, Grey, Red, Blue, Saddle or Bright Red Basketweave seat upholstery that has matching "smooth" grained vinyl sides and backs. That same smooth vinyl is used on the door panels, and both the seats and panels have factory styled heat impressions for an original look.
Front & Rear Seat Upholstery
All of our seat upholstery is made with the finest quality materials, completely finished (no sewing required), and has extruded vinyl piping and padded heat-seams. Our Interior Kit includes front & rear upholstery with Basketweave Vinyl seating/backrest surfaces and matching Smooth Vinyl sides and back. You can buy with confidence knowing the seat upholstery is covered by a limited lifetime warranty against manufacturer defects.
Need Seat padding?
Seat padding is NOT included with kit, it must be purchased separately. Do not forget our replacement padding kit and burlap (click here to purchase separately) to achieve professional results. We will not sell that messy “horsehair” (actually coconut husk) fiber pads (that still require a layer of foam be installed on top of them) for padding. We know the horsehair was original for early VW's, but feel that high density foam is a superior product and there is a reason why "horse hair" is NOT used in cars today.
Front & Rear Door Panels
Our Door Panel sets includes both front door panels and matching rear quarter panels. Our panels are made with a thick masonite wood backing and are pre-drilled for window crank, door release mechanism and door panel clips. Extremely rigid and durable, Masonite lasts much longer than cardboard, which can easily bend when dampened by rain or snow. The material is lightly padded and feature stock style heat impressions. Our Door Panels look great and will easily outlast the cheap boards others sell with cardboard backing. A Limited Lifetime Warranty ensures your door panels will fit better, look newer longer and hold their quality for years.

Need Clips and Seals?You may need to replace your existing door panel clips and seals when installing new door panels. Clips and Seals are NOT included with kit, you may reuse both as long as they are in good condition.

Nylon Loop Automotive Carpet
Our carpet kits are made 1/4" tall, 250KPSI (knots per square inch) nylon threads for a full looking carpet that has great wear and stain resistance and the loop carpet features a FLW (fiber lock weave) Backing to hold the threads in place. "Loop" carpet is named as such as the yarns are looped up and down through the backing. Our interior kits are offered with Black, Brown, Blue, Charcoal, Red, Saddle, Maroon or Oatmeal carpet.
Front & Rear Interior Carpet Kits
Our carpet kits cover the complete interior compartment (up to back seat) and behind the rear seat. They are made of high quality automotive grade carpet and feature a rubber backing. All carpet kits are yarn bound (which is much more durable than cloth or vinyl binding) and are designed to withstand years of use and continue looking great.
Early 1956 Beetles had heater ducts at the front of the heater channel, close to the firewall. Later 1956 Beetles and all 1957 Beetles have heater ducts closer to the door jamb. Make sure to select the correct option for your Beetle when selecting the options for your carpet.
Note: Choose from Quality Standard or Super Premium. The 3 piece rear carpet (the carpet behind the rear seat) is included with either selection.
The Quality Standard carpet kit includes heater grommets and a driver side footpad.
The Super Premium Carpet kit includes heater grommets, a driver side footpad and scuff pad on the tunnel, as well as vinyl edged inserts for the gear shift,
hand brake boot and heater control knob. The fitment is the same for either carpet kit, the pre-cut Premium carpet kit is much easier to install with the key openings cut and
trimmed.

Headliner Vinyl Materials
Vinyl Headliners were original to VW models starting in 1963 typically. We offer both Perforated Vinyl (small perforated holes) in Off White, Black, Grey, Tan or Chalk White, and Crush Grain Vinyl in Off White, Black, or Chalk White.
Easy/Conversion or OEM style Headliner
Easy Install Headliners are typically in stock. They are called “easy” as they are conversion style headliners and use less pieces to cover the same area as the OEM. Unless you are familiar with upholstery work we recommend selecting the Conversion Style Headliner. We cover the installation of the easy/conversion style headliner in our included video. Easy or "Conversion" Style, Ragtop headliners are recommend for cars that have a grafted ragtop sunroof.
Original Style Headliners are typically made to order. The OEM headliners use multiple pieces to cover the roof, rear window and quarter windows and are more difficult to install. Our advice is that if you are choosing an OEM headliner and aren't familiar with the installation, buy another spare one. That way once you have messed up and learned trying to install the first headliner, you don't have to wait for a replacement. The only time we recommend choosing an OEM headliner over an easy is for factory ragtop Beetles. If you have a factory ragtop, get an OEM style headliner, but be prepared to by another if you haven’t done one before.
Either Headliner offers complete factory coverage, including coordinating wind lace pieces that cover the door posts. The headliners use anti-microbial treated thread to resist rot and mildew. Remember you will need to remove your rear and quarter windows so make sure you have new window seals when installing a new headliner.

HOGRING KIT
Hogrings can be used for various upholstery tasks during installation. The included kit includes enough rings for one typical interior installation. Hogrings are used to attach Burlap to the seat frame. This process keeps the springs from tearing into your seat foam and is how VW attached the spring liner to the seat frames and occasionally how they hold the upholstery to the seat frame.

1954-67 VW Beetle Low-Back Seat Frames look very similar, share the same seat rails, and are often switched between cars when replacement seat frames are needed. The Seat Upholstery, however, installs differently depending on seat frame year. We recommend checking if your seat frames are original for your car before ordering VW Seat Upholstery.
1954-64 VW Seat Backrest Frames have a bottom bar with a slit. Seat upholstery reinforcement strip tucks in to this slit. 1954-64 VW Seat Upholstery piping runs from left side to right side.
1965-67 VW Seat Backrest Frames
have a bar with spikes that puncture through upholstery. Spikes are then bent over upholstery edge. 1965-67 VW Seat Upholstery piping runs from front to back of seat backrest.

Returns
90 Day Return PolicyYou can return most unused, never installed, like-new items for 90 days from the date of receipt. Items must be in like-new condition. The following items are final sale:
- Special order items
- Special order upholstery
- Electrical items
- Installed carburetors
- Installed items
- Items missing parts or the original packaging material
- Items damaged in return shipping due to improper packaging
- Carburetors that smell like fuel
- Damage due to customer negligence
- Items with scour marks that show installation or attempted installation from nuts, bolts, screw-driver’s, washers, etc.
Returns must be sent in a proper shipping box.
With the exception of parts that are shipped to you in the original manufacturer packaging (example - TMI door panels, floor pans, complete front beams, etc), please be sure to return the parts with an external box or protective packaging around the parts you are returning. Most manufacturer packaging boxes are not rated for shipping and can become damaged or destroyed as they are too thin to withstand forces applied during the shipping process. Failure to do so will result in a higher restocking/reboxing fee or outright refusal of the return if the part cannot be restocked in the same condition it arrived at you. How to Start a Return:
- Call JBugs at 800-231-1784
- Request an Return Authorization. Do not ship your return back to us until you have an RMA.
- Place a copy of your invoice or order confirmation inside the package.
- Carefully package your items
- Ship the items back to the JBugs return address listed on the RMA. Keep your tracking information for proof of delivery.
- Once you receive a Return Authorization, all returns must be shipped back to our AZ address.
- Returns shipped to our administration office may be subject to a higher restocking fee.
- Returns, refunds, and store credits are usually processed within 5 days upon receiving the items back.
- We are not responsible for tracking returns shipped without an RMA.
- Refunds, exchanges, or store credits will be given for items returned within 90 days of receipt.
- Refunds are issued to your original payment method.
- The customer is responsible for the return shipping charges except in cases where JBugs shipped the incorrect item.
- Shipping charges are not refundable.
- JBugs is not responsible for any 3rd party installation charges.
- Returns will be subject to a 20% restocking fee except in a situation where JBugs shipped the incorrect item.

Door panels are scored for armrest and ashtrays but not cut out (just in case you won't need them). 1967 and later door panels are scored for all the year armrests. Pre-67 door panels are only scored for the specific arm rests for that year car.
