The VW left heater channel assembly replace rusted or damaged heater channel. The heater channel is a full metal unit and made in Denmark. The heater channel is the lower structural portion of the Beetle's body, running from the front of the rear fender well, along the outside of the body (at the bottom of the door opening), to the front firewall. The heater channel has the duct work in place that sits under the rear seat, the vent for the front floor and the duct for the dash defroster hoses. The bottom of the heater channel has the nut plate that the floor pan bolts to and the side has the nut inserts for the running boards. Heater channels ship with black rust inhibitor. Heater channels will need to be sanded and primed prior to installation. Replacing heater channels takes a good amount of skill, sheet metal work and welding so this is not something for the average garage mechanic.
