VW 30PICT-1 Carburetor
This 30PICT-1 "round bowl" reproduction is designed to meet the original Volkswagen specifications exactly. It looks and functions just like the unit from the factory, and is our first choice for stock single port engine applications, and especially when used in conjuction with a vacuum advance distributor. It comes installed with a 12 volt choke which can be used on 6 volt systems but will take longer to warm up. The carburetor comes with one base gasket for installing the new unit onto the intake manifold.
Note the round bowl carburetor does not have an idle solenoid valve which makes it much simpler to install and wire up as there is only one wire required, which goes to the choke.
NOTE: We do not recommend pairing this carburetor with an aftermarket SVDA style distributor as 30PICT carbs do not draw enough vacuum to properly actuate the vacuum diaphragm. It pairs well with original vacuum advance distributors which don't require as much vacuum signal.
We strongly recommend you check out the tech tips tab above for more information on
troubleshooting your old carburetor before purchasing a new one.

Spend a little time! Save a lot of money!
Make sure to troubleshoot your Carburetor before purchasing a new one.
Our Carburetors are factory bench tested, adjusted, and ready to install. They are guaranteed to work properly right out of the box, free of all manufacturing defects. If your engine is currently not running well and continues to run poorly after a new carburetor has been installed, the problem is either not the carb, or there may be additional problems hindering performance. We highly recommend you check, diagnose and exhaust every other possibility before purchasing a new carburetor, because they will not be refunded once installed. Addressing the problems below is far less expensive than the cost of a new carburetor!
Check for intake leaks at the carburetor base gasket, at the intake manifold boots and end castings (for dual port manifolds), at the
cylinder head, and that the manifold itself is not cracked or pin-holed.
Make sure that the ignition timing is correct and your spark plugs, plugs wires, points, condenser, cap and rotor are in good condition.
Make sure that the valves are adjusted properly.Check that your fuel pressure is proper. Often times new fuel pumps put out more pressure than carburetors can use.
MOST IMPORTANTLY make sure your current carburetor is adjusted properly. If you are not familiar with setting a carburetor take the car to a certified mechanic that is familiar with VWs.
