VW Fresh Air Connection Pipe - Hose to Heater Box - Each

Installs through the two large holes at either side of the rear engine tin
Connects the fresh air hoses from the fan shroud to the heater boxes
Sold individually, 2 required per vehicle

The fresh air connection pipes install through the two large holes at either side of the rear engine tin and into the kidney shaped ducts on the stock muffler. These pipes connect the fresh air hoses coming off the fan shroud to the heater boxes on the underside of the engine via those ducts.

Please note: These are only used for cars equipped with a stock (or stock reproduction) fan shroud and exhaust system. They are not used on cars with aftermarket mufflers and/or those without heater boxes. Please see the "Tech Tips" tab above for instructions on how to configure the fresh air hoses so you can retain heater boxes when running an aftermarket exhaust.

Our Expert's Take:

VW engines rely upon proper air flow to run safely. It's in your best interest to make sure everything is sealed up as tight as possible around the belt line, so that hot exhaust air does not travel up into the intake side of the engine bay and overheat the engine. We recommend also installing fresh air hose base seals when you put in the connection pipes to prevent any hot air from leaking through the gap between it and the rear engine tin.
