The VW Padded Dashboard Kit includes our high quality replacement dashboard, the left, center and right defroster vents, the left and right face vents, glove box trim ring with pins and glove box lid stops. The dashboard kit fits 1971 through 1974 and 1976 through 1977 Standard Beetles as well as 1971 through 1972 Super Beetles. For early model 1971 Beetles & Super Beetles, (if your wiper switch is on the dash, you have an early model 1971), you will have to cut a hole for the windshield wiper switch. Later models have the wiper switch on the steering column.
Our Expert's Take:
Installing a Beetle Padded Dashboard is not an easy ordeal, especially at the glove box opening and the passenger vents. A heat gun will help immensly, use glue and be patient. There isn't a better replacement dashboard made today, we've tried all the aftermarket dashboards, they just don't fit.
