2-Speed Windshield Wiper Switch for VW Models

Compatible with single or two-speed wiper motors
Features a 3-position switch: off-on-on
Includes pneumatic diaphragm for washer nozzle operation

This 2-speed windshield wiper switch features a 3-position function and is designed for use with either single or two-speed wiper motors. The switch mounts to the dash with a 10mm dash escutcheon and includes a 5mm threaded post compatible with most dash knobs. It also incorporates a pneumatic diaphragm, allowing washer nozzle operation through the center of the post when used with a compatible wiper knob.

A Dash Switch Escutcheon Tool (P/N VW012941) makes removing and installing the switch much easier.

The 1962-67 two-speed wiper switch looks very similar to the 1968-71 two-speed wiper switch. The difference is the mounting escutcheon. 1962-67 uses a 10mm escutcheon. 1968-71 uses a 14mm escutcheon.

Our 2 Speed Wiper Switch will fit 1966 and earlier models but does look different than the original, single speed switch. The 2 Speed Switch Can be used with a single speed motor, click on the "Tech Tips" Tab for wiring terminal cross over information.

Replacement Wiper Switch Terminal Definitions:
30 - POWER FROM FUSE BOX
31 - CHASSIS GROUND
31B - SWITCHED GROUND TO WIPER SWITCH
53A - PARK POSISTION (54 on early model wiper motors/switches)
53 - SPEED 1 (54D on early model wiper motors/switches)
53B - SPEED 2 (Not used on early wiper motors)

Some wiper switches or motors may have only 2 or 3 terminals. Wire up your original motor to the terminals or their cross over number listed above.
