This 1968-1973 Beetle and 1971-1973 Super Beetle front bumper has 5 layers of nickel plating for the brightest and most corrosion-resistant chrome finish available. This is the best replacement bumper you can put on your vehicle. We took a NOS, original bumper to build the tooling with the correct shape and thickness.

5x Nickel Plated Chrome to Meet GM 4374 Chrome Standard

The bumper has 5 layers of nickel plating for the best possible chrome finish. There are two layers of strike nickel, one layer of semi-bright nickel, a layer of bright nickel, and finally a layer of micro-porous nickel. These bumpers are tested to meet the GM 4374 chrome bumper standard, which requires them to pass a 44-hour CASS (Copper Accelerated Acetic Acid Salt Spray) corrosion test. You can't find a better, brighter, or more corrosion-resistant chrome finish than what is on this bumper. Like all chrome, if this bumper is not protected, waxed, or properly maintained, it will eventually rust, but it will withstand the elements as well as anything out there.
