The Engle FK-98 is a newer VW Cam for serious engines. It is designed for 1.4-1.5 rockers, and it's specs are .446" Cam Lift, .624" Valve Lift (1.4 Rockers) 332 degrees of advertised duration, and 292 degrees of duration at .050", on a 108 Lobe Center. This is one of if not the biggest racing cams around and possibly Engle's biggest grind. This cam takes 13:1 or more compression, and thousands of dollars worth of other parts to make the most of the lift that it offers. Performance heads, a 1 3/4+ exhaust, large carburetors, and more are a must. The power band doesn't even start until 5000 rpm and will pull up to and past 10k rpm. Chevy springs are required due to the high revving nature of this cam. All of Engle's FK cams are clearanced to work with stroker crankshafts.

Engle FK Series Camshafts are designed for use with 1.4 or 1.5 rockers.

Setting proper valve train geometry is crucial when using high ratio rockers. FK series cams take advantage of the increase in lift that comes with higher ratio rockers so they are a lot easier on the rest of the valve train. Engle’s FK cams are perfect for mild to high performance street and full race engines and all FK series camshafts are clearanced for stroker crankshafts.

Installation Notes:

All Type 1 performance cams are 3 Bolt, "early style" or "flat cams" and fit Type 1,2 & 3, 1200cc(40hp) to 1600cc based engines. New lifters should be installed whenever a new cam is being used. Never reuse old lifters with a new cam! Here are a few of options to consider:
