Our VW Gas Tank fits 1955 to 1967 Type 2 Bus models. The tank accepts the stock sending unit as well as the fuel tap and in tank filter at the bottom. The filler neck uses the stock 1955 to 1967 Bus gas cap, part number 211201551. The fuel tap, in tank filter, filler neck collar, along with a replacement sending unit and seal and the gas tank to body seal can be added to the tank by selecting the "Installation Kit" above.

Our high-quality reproduction fuel tanks look and fit just like the original German-made tanks and will last decades if properly maintained. These tanks are not cheap repops. They are the best available on the market and of excellent quality. Don’t waste your time and effort picking up a poor-fitting, thin-walled tank from our competitor that you’ll have to replace before you know it. Do the job right the first time and don’t worry about it for another 50 years!

Fuel Tanks should be thoroughly cleaned before installation. Some tanks are lined with cosmoline which can be cleaned out with MEK (Methyl-Ethyl-Ketone), Acetone or a similar solvent. Even if the tank is not lined, it is still important to clean out the tank. Manufacturing debris can clog your fuel lines, carburetor or fuel system!

The fuel tank filler neck port has a 3.5mm port for the 3.5mm Vent Hose .

The fuel tank tap at the bottom of tank has a 5mm port for the 5mm Fuel Hose .
