The 1968-1979 VW Bus Center Steering Drag Link or center tie rod has one fixed end and one adjustable end and is about 27" long. The steering drag link connects the pitman arm or drop arm, on the steering box to the swing lever at the front beam. The adjustable end of the drag link connects to the steering box, the fixed end connects to the steering lever. VW originally made the left tie rod and the end of the drag link adjustable so the front end could be aligned. The right tie rod was fixed at both ends from the factory but can be replaced with a left side tie rod along with a new drag link to ensure that all of your tie rods are in good shape and ready to steer your 1968 through 1979 Bus or Type 2 straight.
