Mahle 85.5mm Cast Piston and Cylinder Kit - for 69mm Crank

Cast aluminum pistons with cast iron cylinder sleeves
Changes 1300/1500cc engines to 1600cc; no case machining required
1300cc engines require 1500/1600 cylinder heads

This complete Cima/Mahle 85.5mm piston and cylinder kit includes cast aluminum pistons, cast iron cylinder sleeves, wrist pins, clips, and piston rings. The cylinders are designed for the stock 69mm crankshaft and will fit 1300cc, 1500cc, and 1600cc engines. Installing the 85.5mm pistons and cylinders in a 1300 or 1500cc engine will change the displacement to 1600cc (actually 1585cc, but VW rounded up). No case machining is required. The outer diameter of the cylinder sleeves is approximately 89.5mm at the case and 94mm at the head.

Before you Install:
New piston & cylinder kits ship with the piston rings installed in the pistons, inside the cylinders. However, this does not mean they are ready to install. The pistons should be removed so the rings can be properly clocked, then reinstalled before engine assembly can begin. We cover the procedure in the video below.
