VW Competition Merged Exhaust System - 1 5/8"

Includes non-baffled black stinger, flange gaskets, and mounting hardware

The EMPI competition merged exhaust system eliminates heater boxes providing maximum air flow. This exhaust uses 1 5/8" tubing with smooth mandrel bends leading to a hand-cut and fitted longer collector for ultimate power. The competition header is supplied with a non-baffled black stinger. If you want to tone down the exhaust, the following mufflers will fit: part numbers 3700, 55-3700, 3701, 3702, and 3703. Not for use on engines with single carburetors as the exhaust does not have heat riser attachments.

Black paint is only a rust inhibitor! If the black paint is not removed before installation, it will burn off in a few hours. We recommend stripping the exhaust with a good solvent or sanding the paint off and then painting with a high quality, high-temperature exhaust paint. None of our exhausts are warrantied against rust. If you want an exhaust with a durable finish, consider a ceramic coated, chrome plated, or stainless steel exhaust.
