This Volkswagen headliner padding kit is compatible with 1958 and later classic VW Beetles and Super Beetle Sedans. This high quality padding kit
is essential when installing any new headliner. The kit includes padding for the inside roof, door posts, below and around both quarter windows,
and the rear window. This headliner padding kit is necessary to reduce interior noise (the tin can effect) and to give your new headliner the
proper shape it needs. This kit is compatible with the VW Beetle or Super Beetle Sedan, Ragtops and Sunroof cars. The center section will need to
be cut for ragtops or sunroofs.
Headliner Padding Installation:
Main Roof Padding
Above Door Padding
Door Post Padding
Above Quarter Window Padding
Above Fender Padding
L Frame Rear-Window Quarters
Rear Rear-Window Quarters
Below Rear Window Padding
Start with the main roof section pad. You may use our quart can of glue (use sparingly) and brush the adhesive on body, then apply to padding. You may also use a can of spray glue as long as you spray both the padding and body individually, then tack both pieces together. Repeat using the same method on the remaining pieces.
Padding should only cover interior of vehicle, do not extend over the lips in the window channels. Any excess material at the lip of the body will make installing seals much more difficult.
NOTE: Some pieces may require slight trimming around edges as headliner patterns changed over the years. This can easily be accomplished with scissors or a sharp knife or razor blade.
NOTE: The main roof padding section will need to be cut for ragtops and sun-roof cars.
As always, if you have any questions regarding your installation please do not hesitate to call us!
