12 Inch Insert upholstery kit includes a 12 Inch wide insert that runs up/down the center of the seat and a second side/backing material. You can mix & match colors or completely different materials such as smooth vinyl with a tweed or velour insert for a custom look. All upholstery is made with the finest quality materials, completely finished (no sewing required), and has extruded vinyl piping and original padded heat-seam patterns for the year of the car. All 12" Insert Seat Upholstery kits are special order items.

Need Seat padding?

Do not forget our replacement padding kit (click here to purchase separately) to achieve professional results.You may re-use your existing seat foam as long as it is in good condition. We will not sell messy horsehair fiber mats (that still require a thin layer of foam on top) for padding. We know they were original to early VW's, but feel foam is a superior product and there is a reason horsehair is NOT used in your modern cars today.

Solid Extruded Vinyl Piping

The "piping" (also known as welt) on seats and door panels can be made two ways, Extruded or Wrapped. TMI's Extruded method produced piping made of solid color that is 23 times thicker than a vinyl wrapped cord. No matter how much wear you give Extruded Piping, it never shows the cord or white string like wrapped cord will show.

Why ENDURATEX Vinyl?

TMI uses the thickest vinyl period! Some of the "other" door panels and seat upholstery are made with a vinyl film. Talk about thin. All TMI Products feature thick, expanded vinyl with cross-linked backing. It looks new longer, holds up to wear, cleans up easy, and holds its original shape.
