This EMPI 38E Gas Carb kit comes complete with an air cleaner and manifold for Type 2 and 4. This synchronous 2-barrel carb kit is perfect for street and off-road engines and will improve performance over a stock carburetor. This kit is designed for a late VW Bus (1972-1979) and is test run and adjusted for smooth performance. This is base-line jetted for 1800cc and will require jetting to match your engine's specific needs.
Fuel Pressure MUST be set at 1.5 to 2 psi max! The 38EGAS carburetor is very susceptible to flooding out, with hesitation and stumbling off idle if the fuel pressure is too high. Before doing ANY tuning of the carburetor, make sure the fuel pressure is set and checked with a pressure gauge to less than 2 PSI.

Isolated Center Section Aluminum Intake Manifold featuring a true pre-heat system to fit either dual port or single port WITH end castings
Air Filter with High Flow Gauze Element
Electric Choke
Fuel Line
Uni-Link Linkage and Hardware
