Our JBugs 200mm clutch kit is comprised of good quality, yet economical components. It is perfect for the budget minded customer that is cruising on the streets. This clutch isn't designed for drag racing, off roading, etc. If you're looking for the best quality clutch available and aren't concerned about the cost, our CLUTCH2 kit comes with all German components (and costs almost 3 times as much). If you are on a budget though, but don't want to waste your time with questionable parts, this is the clutch you're looking for. The kit is compatible with 1967 through 1970 Beetles and Karmann Ghias, 1963 through 1970 Type 2 Bus models and 1966 through 1970 Type 3 Squarebacks, Fastback and Notchbacks.

Clutch Fitment can be Tricky

The fitments listed above apply to the original, stock applications. However, the right clutch for your vehicle depends on the transmission (more specifically the throw out shaft), the flywheel & engine. Many of classic VWs no longer have the original engine. This clutch will fit if your transmission throw out bearing has removeable clips that attach to the side of the throw out bearing, and a 200mm Flywheel. Throughout the years, many things may or may not have been swapped out.

A perfect example for this would be our all-new, EMPI long block engines that come with a 200mm flywheel:

• If you have a 1961 Beetle with a new, EMPI long block engine, this clutch kit will fit.
• If you have a 1961 Beetle with the original engine, this clutch would not fit because a 1961 Beetle originally came with 180mm flywheel.
