VW IRS Boxed Trailing Arms - Stock Width - 1" Longer - Pair

Stock width but 1" longer for more lift and travel

Shock mount location is installer-selectable; mounts not included

These Type 1 IRS boxed trailing arms are stock width but 1" longer than stock, providing more lift and travel. The mild steel boxed design is stronger than stock and allows the installer to choose the shock mounting location (shock mounts not included). The bearing housing is compatible with stock VW Type 1 IRS bearings, spacers, and C-clips so your stock parts can be reused, along with the stock stub axles. However, due to the increased travel, using conversion stubs that run larger Type 2 or Porsche 930 CV joints with corresponding transaxle output flanges is recommended. These arms are a great choice for mild baja bugs, Manx-style buggies, sand rails, and other VW IRS rear-suspended vehicles that want more travel and strength.

Stock drum brake backing plates can be installed on these arms. For disc brakes, caliper brackets (such as P/N 17-2679) must be welded directly to the arm.
