EMPI's CV Joint (Constant Velocity) is complete with inner and outer rings, the cage and balls. The CV joints are sold per joint, one axle would need 2 joints, and one VW would use 4 joints to fit both rear axles (Syncros being the exception). The CV Joint Kit fits at the inside and outside of 1968 through 1979 Type 2 Bus models, 1973 through 1974 Things, 1980 through 1991 Vanagons, the rear axles on 1986 through 1991 Syncros and the inner front axles of the Syncros as well.
