EMPI VW Oil Cooler Seals - Late Model - Stepped - Pack of 4

Stepped seal, 16mm outside diameter, for "doghouse" style oil coolers
4 seals required for most applications; 2 seals for some models

This late-model VW oil cooler seal is a stepped seal with a 16mm outside diameter. It is used on engines equipped with the "doghouse" style oil cooler. On 1971-1977 Standard Beetles, 1971-1979 Super Beetles, 1971-1974 Karmann Ghias, 1973-1974 Things, and 1971 Type 2 Bus models, the seal installs between the cooler and the case adapter and between the adapter and the case, requiring 4 seals total. On 1971-1973 Type 3s, 1972-1979 Type 4 Bus models, and 1980-1983 Vanagons, the seal mounts between the cooler and the case, requiring 2 seals. Sold in packs of 4. A similar oil cooler seal (P/N 021117151A) pack at a lower price point is also available.
