1966 VW Beetle

I acquired my 1966 Beetle on 2/26/23 from a former employer and friend. I am the 3rd registered owner of my car and it was actually sold brand new in the town I live in. It has lived in the area its entire life. It had its first restoration back in 1990 which consisted of the usual rust repair and it's only repaint in its original color of Bahama Blue. After 50+ years in northwest Connecticut, it was time for another overhaul. My friend's father and son began the 2nd restoration by having the pans and heater channels repaired at the start of Covid. That's as far as they made it.

When I picked up the car, it took a car trailer and 2 trucks to get the parts home. Since this car had been previously upgraded to 12v with a 1970 "B" 1600 single port engine and a 1968 swing axle transmission, I decided it was a better candidate for a restomod.

After a significant investment, she now rides on a full air suspension by Limebug in the UK. She has their 4" narrowed beam, Gold Top front shocks and deluxe cantilever rear suspension with an Airlift 3p air management system. The rest of the upgrades and replacement parts have been sourced mostly from JBugs. From the full body seal kit, windshield, interior kits by TMI all the way down to the rivets for the vent windows, that's all JBugs. This car gets TONS of attention and has won almost 20 awards since being put on the road in August of 2023, almost 6,000 miles ago.
