I wanted an older car that me and my family could make memories in taking drive through the Great Smoky Mountains. It was between the VW Beetle or an older Jeep. Since I had a 1963 beetle as my first car and still to this day tell stories of my adventures in my first car. In 2006 the 1973 Super Beetle became one of the family. I went through the Super Beetle to make sure it was mechanical sound. My family has lots of memories as the car was my daily driver taken them to school, ball practice, back road drives through the mountains, and to work for years. My children have long since grown up now. So, I and my wife of 32 years enjoy planning weekend drives (200 to 300 miles) through the Great Smoky Mountains with our dogs. Maybe one day we will enjoy taken our first grandchild on an adventure in our favorite little blue bug that we love.
