1967 VW Beetle Sunroof

I have a 1967 Volkswagen Beetle Sunroof. I bought this car back in 2013 when I was 18 years old off of the well-known Volkswagen website/forum, thesamba.com. It was in rough shape but all together it was pretty much a complete car.

I restored the car fully on my own with me doing all of the work. I took it to my trade school where I was getting my degree in collision repair for body work and paint. Now that I work in a bodyshop as a Paint and Refinish Technician I’ve been able to fix some minor damage I had missed while at school (wasn’t very skilled at that time).

Though it never really ran correctly or reliably, I decided to build a motor from a brand new block all the way to new engine tin and everything in between (courtesy of jbugs.com), which happens to be the most favorite rewarding memory of this car thus far. My VW has taught me that if you take the time and effort into fixing things, something rewarding will come in the end. Not just with cars but with life.
