This is my 1969 VW Beetle. I saved this Bug from the scrapyard. It was owned by a local woman who drove it her whole life. She bought it when she was in college in the 70’s studying to be a nurse. She graduated and was well known for driving the Beetle to work at the hospital for several decades. When she passed the Bug sat neglected. I heard rumors that the famous Hapeville “ol’ lady” Beetle was still in town somewhere. Luckily, I spotted the Bug in my neighborhood rotting behind a shed. I purchased the Beetle and towed it two blocks to my house. I have put many hours of work and many dollars into it. It’s a mix of preservation and custom.
