1967 VW Beetle Sedan

Randy Conn

My uncle Thomas A. Conn purchased this car in Poplar Bluff, Missouri new in September of 1967. It was originally Savanah Beige. He took me and my twin brother to see Herby the Love Bug in this car when we eight years old. I have been riding in this car since I was seven years old.

I got the car form my uncle in August of 2018 and hauled it home on a trailer. The picture of me and my uncle with the car when it was still Savanah Beige was take in January of 2019 after I completed all the mechanical work on it. Complete brake system from the brake fluid reservoir, master cylinder, brake linens, shoes, hubs, bearings, seals, and hoses, and new transaxle.

From there the body was removed and new floor pans, heater channel on the passenger side. Then the body work, the car was completely disassembled and all the parts painted. Then the reassembling started. Every seal, rubber, webbing, house, cable is new. Then I did the interior, carpet, seats, door panels, and headliner. I finished the car in June of 2021.

I have taken it to three car shows. The first car show had 158 enters and the car got Best Import and first place. The second car show only had 10 cars and the car got second place. The third car show had fifty cars and the car got Best Import. The only part that I bought new that wasn’t from JBugs is the transaxle. I’m sure if you look back through your files you’ll see all the part I purchased from your company.

Now the car is basically a new 1967 VW Beetle Sedan. The car had over 400,000 miles on it when I got it. I took my uncle out for his 81st birthday in August in the car he used to take me out in. He is thrilled with the way it turned out. It is a family heirloom that will be around for another 50 plus years.
