This is our beloved 1956 small window Ragtop. It is hard to choose just a few photos from our 56 years of ownership. My father purchased the car in 1968 and it has been restored and worked on many times through its lifetime.

My father taught me to drive in this car, I learned to work on cars by turning wrenches on this car. I held the flashlight for my father while he worked on the car. I hope to share the same experiences with my kids with the same car.

I have just finished doing a whole new wiring harness on the car and it feels good to have everything working again. I just had a son and my father will be flying to meet him in 2 weeks. He doesn’t know that I’ve re wired the Beetle and will surprise him when I let him take me on a ride when he meets my son.
