Meet my '67 Beetle named Hans. I have driven the original Volkswagens since I was 17 years old. I have owned many over the course of nearly 50 years. I fell in love with them.

In 2006 I sold my last VW, a 1970 Beetle, as I took a job in another state. In 2014 I bought a 2009 New Beetle convertible and two years later a 2008 New Beetle.

While driving the '08, I spotted a red '67 Beetle in a fenced driveway and hit the brakes so hard my passenger had to hang on tight. I talked to the owner at length, imploring him to contact me if he ever decided to sell. A few weeks later, he did, recognizing he wanted the car to be truly loved by a new owner.

I replaced everything back to original stock condition with the help of JBugs and replaced the black interior with tan seats and white headliner, doing all the work myself.

Hans is my everyday car, happily driving around town and across the country.
