Vent Wing Lock Rivets - Pair - Solid (OE) Style

The original style, solid vent wing lock rivets are perfect for those that don't want to hammer down the heads of pop-rivets when installing new vent wing locks. The solid vent wing locks do require a hammer for installation, along with a "buck", and a punch to compress the rivets down in to the vent wing glass frame. Once the vent wing lock is set in place into the frame, the rivets can be pushed through both, from the bottom up. Then the frame, lock and rivets can be set on a hard flat surface, such as an anvil or the top of a bench vise. Then a punch can be aligned over the top of the rivet and hammered flat to hold the vent wing lock in place securely to the frame. Honestly, a standard pop rivet is much easier to install, but for those that have to have original style rivets, we've got them available here. The rivets are sold as a pair (one pair is needed per lock) and fit 1954 through 1977 Standard Beetles, 1971 through 1979 Super Beetles, 1955 through 1979 Type 2 Bus models and 1962 through 1973 Type 3s.
