I have owned and driven my 1971 VW Super Beetle for over 10 years. I purchased it in high school as my second car after an unfortunate accident totaled my first one (1974 Sun Bug). Though I have purchased other cars, my VW still holds a special place in my heart and is one of my favorite cars. About 4 years ago, I swapped the 1600cc dual port engine for an EJ22 from a Subaru Impreza. I installed all new suspension and wider custom wheels and tires on it last year (shown in photos), as well as a freeway flier transmission to back the Subaru engine. My next step is to install a 2003 Subaru EJ207 Ver8 engine that I recently purchased.
