My dad bought this 1962 Ragtop Bug from a friend for $300 in 1980 in Sarasota, FL when I was learning to drive. It was orininally purchased by the first owner in Sarasota and I have every registration since then! He eventually gave the Bug ( which he still calls Herbie) to me for my birthday in 1999 and I began the restoration process with Vans & Customs in Bradenton, FL.

I was able to drive it to my 20 year high school reunion in 2001 and so many people remembered when it was a faded blue color; a used car then. It's now 62 years old and still looks like I just had it painted since I keep it in the garage. I don't drive it as much as I used to, but still drive to the annual Bug Jam in Dady City, FL.
