If you're tired of your aftermarket aluminum wheels, looking for a cost-effective way to get back to that stock style, or just need a spare, look no further. These stock style slotted VW wheels look great and won't break the bank. They are set up for a 5x205mm bolt pattern, come with hubcaps clips pre-installed, and work best with the early ('54-65) dome style hubcaps used on Type 1s and 2s. (See the hubcap information below)
The slotted wheels are available in silver or chrome finish. The silver painted wheels offer a classic, timeless look for your VW and the versatility to match any style. The chrome wheels will give your car the distinctive shine to stand out and make a bold statement.
These wheels are already a great, every day value, but why not get an even better deal? When you buy a complete set of four wheels, your order will qualify for our 10 percent kit discount. The discount will be automatically applied when you add four of these wheels to your cart.
We recommend the Michelin classic tires with these wheels. The Michelin tires come backed by a 6 year warranty, they are competitively priced, and they are available in the most popular sizes for classic VWs.
These wheels work best with the dome-style, 1954-1965 VW hubcaps and come with the hubcap clips pre-installed.
If you have a 1966 or 1967 beetle and you want the flat style, 1966-1967 hubcaps, you can make them fit, but it's gross and you probably shouldn't. The hub caps can be loose and there is a gap between edge of the hub cap and the wheel. To quote Sam Mebane "Have I done it? Yes. Did I like it? No." We will not accept return on these wheels due to the fact that they don't fit the flat style 1966-1967 hubcaps. When in doubt, get the 1954-1965 dome style hubcaps.
The 1966-1967 flat style hub caps will not fit on 1965 and earlier vehicles because the hubcap will hit the axle nut.
We recommend 12x1.5mm ball seat lug bolts for Beetle, Karmann Ghia, and Type 3 vehicles. If you have a Bus, you need 14x1.5 ball seat lug bolts. If you have a Type 2, the 14x1.5mm bolts are sold as a pack 4, so be sure the buy the correct quantity for the number of bolts that you need.
These are the highest quality stock wheels available. They are perfect for most restorations. If you have a concours quality, show restoration, additional work and finishing may be required.
We put this notice on all chrome products, regardless of manufacturer, or origin.
Chrome plating is an electro-plating process that is highly regulated due to the environmental impacts of the chemicals, metals, and the exhaust gasses released during the process.
We highly recommend maintaining any chrome on your vehicle by applying a car wax or detailing spray on a regular basis
If you properly maintain the chrome and keep your car stored in a dry, non-salty-air environment, the chrome will last.
