Hard Metal Brake Lines are an essential element of your
VW Brakes. Hard Metal Brake Lines connect the Master Cylinder to the front and rear wheel cylinders or brake calipers providing a simple, effective way of transmitting the brake fluid through the hydraulic system. VW used a number of different lengths of steel brakes lines in Beetles, Buses, Karmann Ghias, Type 3 Squarebacks, Notchbacks & Fastbacks, Super Beetles and Things. The hard lines all feature 10x1.00mm threaded fittings and are roughly 4.5mm in outer diameter. The fittings secure the double bubble European flared ends to master cylinders, brake hoses, unions, wheel cylinders or brake calipers. Brake lines are held to the chassis at junction points with
Brake Line Clips. The clips,
Brake Line "T" Fittings and
Brake Line Connectors , as well as the brake components themselves, keep the hard lines in place on the chassis.

Brake Line Accessories:
Brake Line T Fittings - are used at the Rear of all VW models to split the line from the front to the left and right rear of the VW. 1968 through 1979 Buses and 1971 through 1979 Super Beetles use another T at the front to split the front to the left and right.
Brake Line Junctions - are used at the right rear of 1968 (IRS) through 1979 Beetles, Super Beetles, Karmann Ghias & Things.
Brake Line Clips - are used in all VW models at various points on the chassis and suspension to hold the brake hose to the brake line.
