Single Carburetors are usually preferred Off Road for a number of reasons. A carburetor in the center of a Dune Buggy is less prone to side to side shaking and one carburetor means less parts, like the linkage, can go wrong.
The 2 Barrel Weber DFV,DGVC and EMPI EPC Series carburetors are a great step up from stock for a mild performing Off Road engine. The Progressive carburetors will keep a bit of the economy of the stock carb at lower throttle positions riding on the primary barrel. Under full throttle situations both barrels are open for maximum fuel and air flow. The EMPI EGAS Carburetor Kit opens synchronously, giving your Dune Buggy the most performance possible from the first touch of the throttle.
Weber IDF and EMPI HPMX Carburetors are the carburetor of choice for thousands of Off Roaders. Their performance and reliability is race proven all over the world. Typically we recommend 40mm carbs for engines up to 2000cc and 44mm carbs for larger engines. Either carburetor size can be tuned with air and fuel jetting changes as well as changeable venturies.
End castings are required on all Single Carbureted, Dual Port Engines. Single Port Engines not using the stock manifold will require the Single Port End Casting Kit.
