About Our VW Beetle Wheels & Tires
The bolt pattern is the key identifier for finding the proper fitment for putting on aftermarket or other new wheels on your Volkswagen. The "bolt pattern" refers to the number of lug holes in the wheel and the distance between them. The 1954-1967 VW Bug came stock with a 5 Lug Wheel. The 1968-1977 VW Bug came stock with a 4 Lug Wheel.
VW Bug Stock Wheels
The Wide 5 bolt pattern came stock on the early VW Beetle. We offer our stock VW wheels in chrome, silver, and polished aluminum finishes. These wheels accept stock style hubcaps and use stock lug bolts.The 4x130 4 lug bolt pattern came stock on the later VW Beetle. We offer our stock VW wheels in chrome, silver, and polished aluminum finishes. These wheels accept stock style hubcaps and use stock lug bolts.
Measure from back of one hole across pattern to center of second hole. Always check your bolt pattern before placing an order to ensure the correct fit wheels for your car.

We offer VW tires for your classis VW. The 165/80R15 is the modern day replacement for the factory size 165SR15 tire. This tire will fit the stock VW 15x4.5" wheel. It will also fit all of our aftermarket 15" wheels in widths from 4" to 6.5".The 145R15 is a lower than stock profile tire. It is both smaller in diameter (it is shorter) and width (it is narrower) than stock. If you are lowering the front of your vehicle you will most commonly need a smaller than stock tire. This is a necessity if you are installing drop spindles or lowering struts. Stock tires will not clear if you are lowering your vehicle! The 145R15 tire will fit the stock VW 15x4.5" wheel. It will also fit all of our aftermarket 15" wheels in widths from 4" to 5.5". Due to the very narrow tread width we recommend only using the 145R15 tire on the front of your car.
The 135R15 is a lower than stock profile tire. It is both smaller in diameter (it is shorter) and width (it is narrower) than stock. It is smaller still than a 145R15 tire as well. If you are lowering the front of your vehicle you will most commonly need a smaller than stock tire. This is a necessity if you are installing drop spindles or lowering struts.
