This drag link is made by Italian manufacturer OCAP and fits all 1968 to 1979 Type 2 (Bus) models. The drag link connects the drop arm on the steering box to the swing lever. It is part of the steering linkage that allows you to use the steering wheel inside the vehicle to change the direction of the wheels. The adjustable end of the link connects to the drop arm on the steering box, and the fixed end connects to the swing lever. VW made the left tie rod and the steering box end of the drag link adjustable so the front end could be aligned. If you have a lot of play in the steering wheel before engagement, it could be a worn out drag link (among other issues!)
