This right outer tie rod end made by Italian manufacturer OCAP connects the passenger (right) side spindle to the right side tie rod assembly. This tie rod end is modeled after OE design with a "straight" head aligned with the center rod (not angled or bent). It fits 1946 to May 1968 Standard Beetle and 1956 to May 1968 Karmann Ghia models through chassis #118857239. Tie rods are named for their function. They tie together the steering components. The tie rods carry the energy from the steering box to the spindle, which allows the driver to use the steering wheel in the cabin to turn the vehicle. The tie rod end has a 10x1.25mm threaded stud where it connects to the spindle and a 14x1.5mm right hand threads (RHT) where it goes into the tie rod sleeve. Sold individually and includes 17mm lock nut for mounting.
